Give me your opinions, Oppo.
My wife and I are quite frugal and as a result, tend to be very judicious about money spent on ourselves. This year we’ve decided to indulge ourselves a bit and allocate some end-of-the-year money to treat ourselves with. She’s getting a fancy coffee/espresso machine and I’m getting a new console.
I’ve always been a Playstation guy (maybe PC gaming someday) and while Forza looks nice, I just can’t stomach the idea of paying to be able to play games online with the Xbox. EDIT: Just realized that a Playstation+ membership is required to play PS4 online. Crap.
So tell me, what are the best racing games for PS4? Driveclub? Project Cars? Others?

you have to pay to play online with PS4 as well now unfortunately and I’d take Project Cars over Drive Club, I got bored of DC very quickly

Project Cars is good when it works which for me wasn’t very often. Also when it comes to simulating racing it is so far ahead of anything on the market (barring F1) it is kind of ridiculous.

Get Project Cars and a PSN+ for online (only 50 bucks a year I think) so I can finally play with someone.

Best racing game for PS4 is racing to the nearest electronics store and trading in your PS4 for an XBOX One and Forza 6.

This is the thing I’m most upset about. I love the GT series, but driving an AMG that sounds like a weed whacker is terrible.

It’s not like it’s a new issue either. They’ve always had terrible audio. That’s half the experience with racing games.

F1 2015 isnt as bad as people say and I think it came down in price so it might be a good game to spend your time on until need for speed and gt7 comes out

Completely understandable. But admitting you have a problem is the first step on the road to recovery.
In all seriousness though, I’ve been an XBox guy since Day 1, so I’m obviously a little biased. My buddy has a PS4 though and I’ve played GT6 a good bit, but I still like Forza better. And, having played every Forza since the original, I can say with full authority that Forza 6 is the greatest Forza made. It’s the game that Forza 5 should’ve been, but wasn’t. It really is worth the investment. Even coming to a whole new console from what you’ve been used to, you would not be disappointed.

Horizon 2 is also straight up car porn Zen with forza cars and physics, and a rally add-on island.
Xbox gold members get 2 free games a month, usually pretty decent ones and has pretty good sales. I’m sure ps4 has something similar though.

Project Cars has been great for me. However it’s the PC version so YMMV.

It’s always good to consider all options. At the very least, I recommend heading to your nearest Best Buy or Target (or somewhere with an XBOX One demo unit) and playing the Forza 6 demo just so you can experience it for yourself before you make any final decisions.

PlayStation Plus membership gives you free games (Real games) every month. Well worth the investment. And if you have a PS3 the account works on both and you get free games for both.
